A recent study with the relatively new mood stabilizing drug, Divalproex, showed that it just barely worked in individuals with bipolar disorder. The study looked at the effects of Divalproex on moderate to severe hypomania or mild mania. However, the results were not dramatic and many people dropped out of the study.
So if you have bipolar and are still looking for the wonder drug, Divalproex is the not one you need.
